The Chief Minister Conrad today held a review meeting on the upcoming National Games 2022

Shillong, March 14: The Chief Minister of Meghalaya Conrad K. Sangma today held a review meeting in connection with the upcoming National Games 2022 to be hosted by the State with Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh.

Additional Chief Secretary PW Ingty, Director Sports and Youth Affairs Matsiewdor War Nongbri and other senior officials attended the meeting.

This was the first meeting after Chief Minister assumed his office to discuss the preparedness of the mega sporting event, which is being held in the State.

The officials briefed the Chief Minister on the formation of different committees, steps to be taken to start the process of hosting the National Games in the State.

An elaborate discussion on upgradation of sporting infrastructure and facilities including stadiums, logistics, accommodation and air connectivity were also taken up during the review meeting.

 

Today’s meeting assumes significance as the ball for hosting the upcoming National Games was set rolling by the Government. The thrust of the Government to upgrade sports facilities in Meghalaya was elaborately discussed, as the National Games will put Meghalaya on the national limelight.
