The Chief Minister keeps his words, Assessment of old stock of lime stone began

Shillong, March 31: The Meghalaya Minerals Exporter’s Chamber of Commerce (MMECC) thank the Chief minister Dr Mukul Sangma for keep his words, what he has assured in the floor of the house in the concluded budget session to eases the people who are engaged in the lime stone activities.

With the prom direction from the Chief minister the forest department, through the ofiice of the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) territorial Shillong, has asked all thus who are engage in this trade to submit their application for re-assessment of the old stock of lime stone that is still left in various quarry, after verification challan will be issued to start transportation.

With this step taken from government through the Forest department, the MMECC felt that the Chief Minister has taken the right direction to ease the hardship of the people who earn their livelihood on this trade, since thousands of people are directly engaged on lime stone activities.

The MMECC urged the DFO, territorial East Khasi Hills District to expedite the process of re-assessment at the earliest, and to issue challan so that people who have their old stock of lime stone in their quarry can start transportation.

The MMECC also thank the leader of the opposition who has raised the problems face by the people of the who are directly or indirectly in lime stone activities in the floor of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Dr Donkupar Roy, where the Chief Minister   Dr Mukul Sangma has kept his words what he assured in the floor of the Assembly.
