The decision of Dr. Lapang, was a sign that people of Meghalaya will reject Congress:Conrad

Shillong, November 27: The 1st General Conference of the Dadenggre Block of the NPP was held on Saturday the 25th of November at Tebronggre village. The Conference saw an attendance thousand of supporters of the NPP from across 49-Dadenggre LAC.

Speaking in the general conference the Chief Guest Mr  Conrad K Sangma, MP and National President of the NPP congratulated the President Mr Walther N Sangma and other Members of the Dadeng Block Committee for organising the Conference.

He expressed his happiness at the growth of the Party and attributed this to the strong foundations laid by the founder of the Party Lt. Shri P A Sangma.These foundations were based on the welfare and protection of the rights of Tribals, religious minorities including Christians and the people of North East in general.

He also expressed confidence that the outcome of the Meghalaya General Assembly Elections to be held in the year 2018 would go in the favour of the NPP which would form the Government. The decision by Dr. D D Lapang MPCC President and senior leader of the Congress not to contest the upcoming Elections was a sign, among many, that the Congress would be rejected by the people of Meghalaya and ultimately face defeat in the upcoming Elections.
Mr Conrad Sangma also appreciated the fact that careful selection of candidates based upon the criteria of qualification, experience and genuine concern for the welfare of the people would go a long way in ensuring success for the NPP in the upcoming elections.

Mr Denang T Sangma, MDC and former CEM GHADC, criticised the present GHADC EC led by Boston Marak for their inability to pay the salaries of the employees for a period of over 15 months now. In comparison, during the 17 month tenure of the NPP led GHADC, the EC under his care had been able to clear off salaries for a period of 12 months out of 17.

He on behalf of the people of Garo Hills also thanked the voters of Dadenggre for having elected James K Sangma as MLA who had brought up so many issues affecting not just Garo Hills but the entire State in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly. He urged the gathering to continue supporting Shri James K Sangma in the upcoming elections.

MrJames Sangma MLA of 49-Dadenggre thanked all the leaders who had attended the Conference Miss Agatha Sangma former MP, Mr S B Sangma State Working President NPP, Smti Arlene Sangma President State Women’s wing, Mr Nicky Nongkhlaw State Youth President, Mr Denang T Sangma MDC, Mr Sukharam Sangma MDC,Mr Sengnal Sangma MDC, Candidates of Selsella Smit FCA Sangma and Rajabala Dr. Mizanur Kazi. Shri James Sangma also thanked all the office bearers of the Dadeng NPP Block and the people of Tebronggre village who had organised and hosted the Conference along with all the supporters who had attended.
