The Delegation from Garo Hills met the members of the MPCA on Aadhaar

Shillong, October 30: The Secretary of the Meghalaya People Committee on Aadhaar Mr Auguster, inform that more than 220 people has submitted their application in the office of the Khasi Student Union today expressing their desire that they want to withdraw themselves from the Aadhaar that they have already enrolled .

Speaking to SP News Agency, Mr Jyrwa said that there are many who come to the KSU office requesting the member of the MPCA to extent the time so that they can submit their application to withdraw themselves from Aadhaar which they have enrolled earlier. Since the request has come from many quarters the MPCA has extended the time till 3rd November 2017 this for Shillong region.

For others District like South West KHasi Hills and West Khasi Hills will be till 2nd November 2017. For the South West Khasi Hills people can submit their application in the ophis of the KSU in Mawkyrwat and for Nongstoin of West Khasi Hills they are finalising the location.

The Secretary of the MPCA also said that a delegation from Garo Hills region has come to Shillong to meet the members of the committee to get further clarification on the merit and demerit of having Aadhaar.

The members of the committee explain to the delegation at their capacity.  From the MPCA assure the delegation that if they need the support of the MPCA, the committee is ready to go to Garo Hills to explain to the people on the issue of Aadhar.
