Shillong, May 10: The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District has promulgated night curfew in the entire District from 11/05/2020 to 18/05/2020 from 7.00 Pm to 6.00 Am, in view of the situation concerning COVID-19 in the State, Country and globally.
The promulgation of night curfew is to put in place preventive and mitigation measures to identify and take more stringent step so the pandemic COVID-19 is contained, reduce eliminate in East Khasi Hills District and Meghalaya, by way of ensuring observance of strict protocols of the Advisories issue by the Government in the Health and Family Welfare Department.
The Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills District Smti M.War Nongbri IAS District Magistrate in exercise on the power conferred under section 144 Cr.PC, reda together with regulation 3 of the Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, COVID-19 regulations 2020 and guideline No.5 (i) of order dated 1st May 2020 of Government of India in the Ministry of Home Affair.
The District Magistrate promulgates Night Curfew in East Khasi Hills District with effect from 11th May 2020 upto 18th May 2020 from 7.00 Pm to 6.00 Am each day.
The District Magistrate also mention that this order will not apply to, security Forces, Medical Teams on Duty, wholesale and retail pharmacies, police and arms forces, Fire and Emergency services, MeECL, NEEPCO and Power Grid, Food and Civil Supply Department, FCI, PWD, PHE, Shillong Municipal Board.
Postal Service, Telecom, Communications and IT services, Press, Print and Electronic Media, Petrol Pump, Essential services including Health service and online Home delivery, Authorises workshop and designated spare parts dealership of health and family welfare department Government of Meghalaya and Government official on duty.
These services shall comply strictly with all protocols and procedures including social distancing limiting field staff to the barest minimum and others advisories of Government in the Health and Family Welfare Department, without fail.
All movement of vehicles carrying essential goods, Security Forces, Medical Equipments and shop for repair of Trucks on High Ways are exempted. However, drivers and attendant of the vehicles shall be subjected to medical screening as per laid down protocols.
