The Garo Hills base NGOs condemns brutal oppression against Democratic protests

Shillong, jan 11: The Garo Hills base NGOs, Association for Democracy and Empowerment (ADE) condemns the brutal oppression against democratic protest,in the North Eastern region particularly in Assam and Tripura.

The ADE alleged that the Citizenship Amendment Bill is one most destructive blunder of the Central Government as it’s going to create a tremendous harmful effect on the indigenous people of the North East.

The ADE feels that the center has no respect for Democratic values and principles of the North East residents. It has undemocratically imposed the bill on us.  Despite observing the huge amount of protests against the said Bill. It has no respect for the sentiments of the indigenous people of the region. It are a conspiracy to silence the democratic voice of the indigenous people.

The organization said that the people of North East believed in Prime Minister and the BJP but they betrayed our trust. The Modi government at the Centre by imposing the bill have inflicted mental torture on the indigenous people of Assam and as well as the North Eastern States threatening their existence, identity, language, culture and heritage.

ADE believes this bill is undemocratic, religion centric; the central government wants to impose Bangladeshis on us. If such atrocious and step motherly attitude towards the North Eastern people continues, its better they seek freedom from India, where the Democratic rights are valued and rightfully protected. It’s better to live free than under oppression.

ADE sincerely urges the Central Government to restrain from imposing such a draconian bill on us and keep the century old peace, harmony and integrity of the nation. Said Mr Dalseng Bira Ch Momin president ADE in the press statement issued to the media houses.
