Shillong, March 05: The General Bipin Rawat, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, ADC, Chief of Army Staff with Lieutenant General Abhay Krishna, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding in Chief, Eastern Command visited Shillong Station. Chief of Army Staff and General Officer Commanding in Chief were briefed by Lieutenant General DS Ahuja, AVSM, General Officer Commanding 101 Area on various operational issues.
The Chief of Army Staff evinced particular interest in the welfare of Ex-Servicemen, the efficacy of ECHS (Ex Servicemen Contributory Heath Scheme), various administrative steps taken to improve the quality of life of the soldiers and their dependents.
A Central Special Family Welfare meet was organised at, Assam Regimental Centre for Mrs Madhulika Rawat, President Army Wives Welfare Association for interaction with the Veer Naris and officers’ and JCOs / OR ladies. Mrs Madhulika Rawat was accompanied by Mrs Pia Ahuja, Zonal President Army Wives Welfare Association.
