Shillong, January 21: The General Secretary of the AICC Dr C P Joshi will arrived in Shillong on Tuesday where the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) of the Election Committee will sit to finalist the list of the Candidates of the party Congress.
The Congress will contest in all the 60 constituencies in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in this upcoming MLA. The Election committee of the Congress party is just to scrutinize the document of the applicant if they are in order as per guideline given from the party.
Sources from the Congress Bhavan said that the general secretary Dr C P Joshi will also attend the election committee of the MPCC. The Congress this time will prefer to give party ticket to prospective candidate that they will win in the election.
The independent MLA who has assured the Congress that they will join the party they are yet to resign as MLA since the party has not confirm that they will be given party ticket. The four independent MLA who are will to contest from the Congress party are Mr Brigady Marak of Bajengdoba, Mr Ashahel D Shira of Rajabala, Mr Michael Sangma of Tikrikilla and Mr David Nongrum from Mawryngkneng. The NCP MLA Mr Marthon Sangma of Mendipathar.
