The GM of N.F. Railway assured MPs of NE, will spare no effort to provide the best services

Maligaon, Sept 28: General Manager of N.F. Railway Mr Sanjive Roy today held a discussion with Members of Parliament with constituencies within the jurisdiction of Lumding Division. The discussion was held at the conference hall of the GM’s office, Maligaon.

The discussion was attended by Mr Jitendra Choudhury, MP of Tripura East, Dr. Thokchom Meinya, MP of Inner Manipur, Mr K.G. Kenye, MP Rajya Sabha from Nagaland and Mr K. Bhabananda Singh, MP Rajya Sabha from Manipur along with  senior railway officials.

The discussion started with a brief presentation on various activities and achievements of the Division presented by Divisional Railway Manager of Lumding Division Mr Ashish Sharma. During interaction Mr Ramen Deka requested for proper development of railway infrastructure in Rangiya – Dekargaon section.

He also requested for providing stoppage of all Rajdhani Express trains at Rangiya and all mail or express trains at Nalbari and Udalguri stations as these are district headquarters. He also suggested for ensuring proper cleanliness at small stations like Khairabari , Udalguri.

Mr  Jitendra Choudhury demanded for proper connectivity to all stations in Agartala – Subroom section. He also asked for providing proper passenger amenities in all stations in that route. He requested for providing stoppage of Rajdhani Express train at Ambasa station. He also asked for measures for ensuring proper cleanliness of train toilets.

Dr. Thokchom Meinya suggested that Railways should have inbuilt security mechanisms built into the project to facilitate early completion of all ongoing projects which are getting delayed due to security reasons.

Mr K.G. Kenye also discussed the present security arrangement in place in N.F. Railway. He also demanded improvement in amenities at Dimapur station and construction of more PP sheds. He also enquired about the ongoing Dimapur – Zubza project which is likely to be completed by October, 2021. He also suggested painting all trains with beautiful landscape of Northeast to further improve the tourism potential of the region.

In his concluding remarks, General Manager assured the MPs that N.F. Railway would spare no effort for providing the best of services. He disclosed that N.F. Railway is now free from all un-manned level crossings and that toilets all over the zone were being developed to the best standards to spruce up cleanliness in railway premises.
