Shillong, Nov 10: The civil society who attended the protest rally today on the assault to Smti Agnes Kharshiing and Anita Sangma by miscreants at Sohshrieh in East Jaintia Hills recently condemns the cowardice act committed by them against the women.
Many people who attended the protest rally call by the TUR, in their address to the crowd condemn the incident and demanded from the Meghalaya state government that the culprit should be book for justice.
The public gather demand, that the state government should institute an independent inquiry, the state government should bear the cost of the medical expenses and inquiry should be conducted on the illegal coal mining in the area.
The prominent speaker in the gathering are Mr Amos Kharshiing adviser of the clan, Mr Naba Batacherjee, Smti Patricia Mukhin, former home miniter of Meghalaya Mr RG Lyngdoh and many others who address the gathering. The public meeting was chair by Smti Angela Ryngad.
