Baghmara, July 30: To encourage the students of the South Garo hills District to do well in their studies the Garo Student’s Union of the Southern Zone has taken the initiative by giving awards to the topers students in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate examination held by the Meghalaya Board of School Education 2017.
The Deputy Commissioner of the South Garo Hills District grace the occasion as the Chief quest, Smti S N Marak, in her brief speech to the students at the function she urged them that only hard work will help them to pass well in their examination. She congratulates the student who received the award and urged others to follow their example.
In this felicitation programmes organized by the GSU, there are three students who are topers in the District. The student received the awards along with the certificates for their achievement. The students who received the awards are Mr Chekam N Marak who secured 82.83% from Don Bosco Secondary School Baghmara, Miss Roshni Devi secured 82.50% from Bethel Academy School Baghmara, Miss Chumkira D Shira secured 75.05% from Pioneer Secondary School Baghmara.
