The HPC decided to scrap the tender floated for the Construction of Meghalaya Assembly

Shillong, November 16:  The High Power Committee (HPC) in the meeting held today has decided to scap the tender for the construction of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly on the ground that the lowest bidder has quoted below the tender value.

The High Power Committee was attended by the Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma, PWD Minister Mr Martin M Danggo, Urban Affair Minister Mr RV Lyngdoh, Minister PWD Building Dr Ampareen lyngdoh and MLA Mr Phlastingwell Pangniang and government official from various line departments.

Speaking to Media person, the Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly said that after discussing in the HPC they have decided to scrap the tender and asked the PWD to call for the fresh tender since the lowest bidder has quoted too law from the tender value where the HPC is of the opinion that they bidder would be able to complete the work and at the same time it cannot be compromised with the quality of work.

There are three bidder who were qualified the Gautam construction Pvt ltd  who quoted 15.01% below the tender value,Simplex Infrastructure Pvt ltd that quoted 21% above the tender value and Shapoorji Pallonji Co & ltd  quoted   29.92% above the tender value. The tender value is of Rs.105.84 cores.

After examining all the three renderers the High Power Committee, felt that if the two bidders quoted above the tender value and one is quoted below the tender value and that too the different of more than Rs. 15 cores the HPC felt that the company will not be able to complete the work, the HPC has taken the decision to scrap the tender and call for the fresh one.
