The IG of the BSF Mr. Inderjit welcomes the BSF Cycle Rally as they reached Shillong

Shillong, Nov 14: The Inspector General of the BSF Mr. Inderjit Singh Rana welcome the BSF Cycle rally asthet heaved reached Shillong Meghalaya at BSF camp Mawpat as they have started all the way from Tripura.

The BSF Cycle Rally has completed the journey of 665 Km starting from Tripura and after propagating the message of patriotism & fraternity in bordering districts of Meghalaya, Cyclists successfully accomplished their journey in the state and will proceed to Guwahati today for their onward destination.

The cyclists also interacted with school children, NCC volunteers and youth in several locations along Indo Bangladesh border.The rally will be concluded on reaching South Bengal in coming days after pedaling total distance of 2200 km.

Trans-border crimes and awareness on drugs were also remained objectives of the rally. BSF Jazz and Brass band enthralled the cyclists with playing patriotic songs followed by a Cultural programme presented by troops of 193 Bn and 110 Bn BSF.

Mr. Inderjit Singh Rana, IG BSF Meghalaya while addressing the gathering at Mawpat, Shillong reiterated that the cycle rally is a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and initiative of Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75th year of progressive India.

He also emphasized that this rally will spread a message on National Integration and patriotism throughout its journey. It will also boost the morale of youths of the country and will encourage them to join Border Security Force.
