Shillong, Dec 16: On the momentous occasion of 50 glorious years of victory over Pakistan in the 1971 War for Liberation of Bangladesh, 101 Area of Indian Army organised a commemoration ceremony at War Memorial at Shillong on 16 Dec 2021.
Wreaths were laid by Governor of Meghalaya Shri Satya Pal Malik, Air Marshal DK Patnaik AVSM, VSM, AOC- in- C Eastern Air Command, Lt Gen KC Panchanathan, AVSM, GOC 101 Area, Lt Gen PC Nair AVSM, YSM, DG Assam Rifles and many senior officers from Police and Paramilitary forces as a tribute to the bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice for the honour of the Nation.
The Governor of Meghalaya Shri Satya Pal Malik also addressed and interacted with the Veterans, Veer Naris, Widows and serving personnel who were present on the occasion.
