Shillong, March 09: The issue of “Good Governance Day” raised by the Meghalaya legislators in Assembly session is just a political propaganda and it is their BJP phobia since General election is near in the next year because the people of the state started looking their hope to BJP lead government in the State in 2018, said Mr Egenstar Kurlalang BJYM president.
The legislators should know the history of NDA Government regime under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajpayee rises which is known as the most performed Government which free from corruption, people’s Government, various welfare Schemes and policies were properly implemented and several big projects and policies were initiated. Thus to honour the free Corruption Government and best performed Government “Good Governance Day” was declared to be observed on 25th December which is the Birth Anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee the first uncorrupt Indian Prime Minister.
Thus “Good Governance’s Day” is not that we have to be strictly followed without fail,but it depends on the willingness and wishes of the citizen whether they will observe to celebrate or not, that is why though Good Governance Day did not observed in our state since 2014 but no action being taken by the central government, further regarding this we are free to observe in any day of this week, thus BJP Meghalaya usually observed on 23rd December.
Thus the allegation of Nongkrem MLA Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit and Tura MLA John Laslee Sangma against Central Government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the Declaration of “Good Governance’s Day” is a direct interference in the beliefs of Christian Community and violation of the Constitutional rights is a baseless allegation in nature, and it is not wise for a public leaders who is trying to mislead the common people for political interest, instead they should be more rational focus on Development, law and order, for prosperity and welfare of the state.
Thus BJP as a party focus on Development, Nationalism, strictly adhered to the Constitution of India and govern the country based on constitutional provision and empowerment. Equal rights and justice will be provided to the citizen special care and protection to tribal people and minorities, Thus we have seen in the last 2 years and 10 months Modi Government has brought alots of scheme and project specifically meant for the welfare and interest of Tribals and Minority communities and overall development.
