The JAC of Nongjri area question the State Govt, why border fencing could not be completed

Shillong, July 22: The Chairman of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Nongjri Area of South West Khasi Hills District, Mr Nassar Marwein, question the state government why the fencing at the area could not be complete till date, is was almost a decade.

The border fencing in the area has been started long time back but the construction has not been completed, the area from Charaigoan to Navasohra was not fence till date, the fencing at river Wahkulang, and river Galagoan, the Bangladeshi infiltrate into Indian territory to commit all crimes they enter from this area.

This area are left unfenced where the Bangladeshi national inter into Indian soil freely up to Nongjri, Poitbli, Umsur, Nonghyllam area, after committing crimes they easily fled into Bangladesh. The JAC blames also the Border Security Force not properly madding the area where fencing is not completed.

Speaking to SP News Agency, the JAC demanded from the state government that they should take up the issued with the authority concern who ever may be to see that the fencing in the area should be completed so that the people of the area could live in peace.

The state government should take up the issued with the BSNL to make the mobile tower erected at Nongjri functional, this will help the people to communicate if anything happen in the area, when ever people of the area were kidnap by the Bangladeshi national it is very difficult inform the police by the time they inform the police the criminals has cross over to Bangladesh.

The government should also increased police personal in the area, since this area is very fragile to many crimes committed by the people from across the country, the state government should not delay any more in opening up the police station at Nonghyllam.
