Shillong, August 11: The Meghalaya State Livestock Mission Society (MLSMS) which received the cabinet approval recently is implemented only in the ten Community and Rural Development Block out of forty six community and Rural Development that the state have.
The block that started implementing this Meghalaya State Livestock Mission Society, in the Khasi Hills region are, Mylliem C&RD Block, Umsning C&RD Block, Mawphlang C&RD Block and Mawryngkneng C&RD Block this will be only on dairy farming.
In the Garo Hills Region the Meghalaya State Livestock Mission Society is implemented in the Rongram C&RD Block, Betasing C&RD Block, Zikzak C&RD Block and Selsella C&RD Block, in this block the Society will focus on dairy farming activities.
On the Piggery framing the Meghalaya State livestock Mission Society will focused on two C&RD Block that these two block are the Laskein C&RD Block of West Jiantia Hills District and Mawshynrut C&RD Block in West Khasi Hills District. All this are under the first phase of the programme implemented by the society, in the second phase Jirang C&RD Block will be included.
Sources said that application from the farmers were received at the office of the Deputy Commissioners of respective where the C&RD Block is located, and the MSLMS will directly released the found to the beneficiaries of Rs 5000 to individuals through the office of the Deputy Commissioners. Fund will be released thought Direct Benefit transfer.
