The MLCU in collaboration with MACS observed world Aids Day today

Shillong December 1: Martin Luther Christian University in collaboration with the Meghalaya AIDS Control Society (MACS) today observed the World AIDS Day along with the rest of the world by pinning red ribbons on the students, faculty and staff of the University and also distributed pamphlets about HIV AIDS, which included information and other details about the disease the help available for those suffering from it.

The Red Ribbon Club of the University had earlier in the week organised various competitions and also hosted a special talk by a PLHIV (Person Living with HIV), Mrs Agui Daimei, Co-founder and Co-ordinator of MSNP+ (Meghalaya State Network of Positive People).

The various compettions included an Argumentative Essay Writing competition, Poster making, Slogan writing and Theme writing. The winners were awarded during the awareness programme held on November 24, 2017.

During the Awareness Programme, Mrs Agui Daimei spoke at length about the continued discrimination and the stigma that surrounds the disease and the people suffering from it.
