Shillong, March 01: Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee, along with West Khasi Hills District Congress Committee, and Rambrai –Jyrngam and Nongstoin Block Congress Committees, in its emergent meeting held on 1st March, 2017 at Congress Bhawan, Shillong, under the Chairmanship of Dr. D. D. Lapang, MLA, President, Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee, expressed profound grief and sorrow at the tragic loss of as many as seventeen lives following the fatal road accident, that occurred in West Khasi Hills on 26th February 2017, when occupants of the ill fated truck were on their way to attend Synod at Nonglang.
The meeting prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal repose to the departed souls and expressed condolences with the bereaved family and also prayed to God to grant them strength and solace in this dark hour. The meeting also expressed sympathesis with those large number of Church goers who were seriously injured following the fatal accident and undergoing treatment at different Hospitals at the moment. The meeting while praying for their speedy recovery extended support in this hour of crisis.
