The MPHRC has expressed its shock on the untimely demise of the Archbishop of Shillong

Shillong, Oct 16: The Meghalaya Peoples Human Rights Council (MPHRC) has expressed its deep sense of shock and sorrow of the sudden and untimely demise of the Archbishop of Shillong, (Late) Most. Rev. Dominic Jala.

“As a leading religious scholar, he also committed for his unwavering engagement for social justice, protection of the environment and for promoting the culture of human rights through his liturgical competence” said Dino D.G. Dympep Chairman MPHRC.

“He will be remembered as the very friendly and humble person he was, for his intellectual strength and for his strong and genuine conviction and ability to engage people. The Catholic communities in the state have loss a great religious leader and his legacy of caring for others in which they live will hopefully be emulated by many of us” said MPHRC.
