The MPYC submitted memo to president of India opposing the price rise on Diesel and Petrol

Shillong, June 29: The Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress today submitted memorandum to the President of India through the Deputy Commissioner South West Garo Hills District protesting against the fuel price rise in the country.

The MPYC president Mr Richard M Marak said that in May 2014 when the Modi Government assume paower at the centre the excise duty on Petrol dang diesel is Rs.9.20 per litter and on Diesel is Rs.3.46 per litter.

In the last six years the Union BJP Government has increase the excise duty on petrol by additional of Rs. 23.7 per litter and on Diesel by additional of Rs 28.37 per litter this is a shocking hike on excise duty on diesel and petrol. The Modi Government has earned by T.18 lakh cores in the last six years.

During the lock down in the last three months they have increase the price of Petrol and Diesel was increased by Rs.3 per litter and on 5th May 2020 Modi Government has increase the excise duty on Diesel by Rs.13 per litter on on Petrol by Rs. 10 per litter.

In the last three and half month the BJP Government has increase the price and excise duty on Diesel Rs.26.49 and in Petrol is Rs. 21.50. The MYPC President said that the crude oil price in the international market has gone down to USD 43.41 dolars or Rs. 3288.71 per barrel and per barrel has 159 litters and  would be Rs.20.68 per litters.

In Shillong the  MPCC along with Meghalaya Mahila Congress ,NSUI, Youth Congress to protest against the price rise of petrol and deisel made by the BJP govt, that is hitting the budget of the common man in these trying times of Covid-19.

The Congress party has asked the BJP Government at the centre to roll back the price of fuel in the State and in the Country as a whole.
