The NPP President Mr Conrad today sworn in as the 12 Chief Minister of Meghalaya

Shillong, March 06: The Governor of Meghalaya Mr Ganga Prasad today administered the oath of office and secrecy to  the National president of the National People’s Party Mr Conrad K Sangma as the 12 Chief Minister of Meghalaya at Raj Bhavan along with others 11 ministers amidst large numbers of party workers to witness the grand swearing in ceremony today.

The Council of minister who were sworn in today under the NPP-led Government, are Mr Prestone Tynsong, Mr Sniawbhalang Dhar, Comingone Ymbon, James K Sangma are from the NPP, from the UDP Mr Metbah Lyngdoh, Mr Lakmen Rymbui and Mr Kyrmen Shylla.

From the PDF, Mr Banteidor Lyngdoh and Mr Hamlet Dohling, from the BJP Mr Alexander Hek from the HSPDP Mr Samlin Malngiang.

In the collation government under the name Meghalaya Regional Democratic Alliance (MRDA)  include the Bharatya Janata Party, the United Democratic Party (UDP), Hill State People Democratic Party (HSPDP) and People’s Democratic Front (PDF).The ministers include 4 from the NPP, 3 from the UDP, 2 from PDF 1 each from HSPDP and PDF.

Political leaders who attended the swearing ceremony are, Amit Shah BJP President, Union Home Minster Mr Rajnath Singh, Manipur chief minister Mr N Biren Singh and Assam chief minister Mr Sarbananda Sonowal, Congress leaders from Meghalaya include Dr Mukul Sangma, Dr DD Lapang and many MLA’s from the Congress.

Speaking to media person after the swearing ceremony, The Chief Minister Mr Conrad said that his government will focus on good governance and his priority to take up the long pending boundary dispute with Assam.  The Chief Minister admit that running a collation government is a challenge.
