Shillong, January 24: The Office of the District Medical & Health Officer, East Khasi Hills, Shillong will conduct the National Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization Programme (IIPI), 2018 all over the District. The goal of the Programme is to eradicate Poliomyelitis and to vaccinate all children under five years of age against Polio virus in the District in particular and the State as a whole. The First round of the programme will be held on 29th January, 2018 from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM in the arranged booths throughout the District to be followed by the house to house search and coverage activity on the 30th & 31st January, 2018.
All parents are therefore requested to bring their children below 5 (five) years of age to the arranged booths in their respective locality for vaccination. Headmen, NGOs, Church leaders etc. are also requested to join hands with the Department of Health & Family Welfare for the success of the programme, so that our children are protected from the wild polio virus and eliminate it from the surface of the earth.
