Shillong, oct 14: The Meghalaya Police has come out with the statement to advice the public to be aware of fake calls as the festive season is around the corner, many e-commerce site namely, Snapdeal, Fligkart, Amazon etc, offering huge discount on sale.
The police said that some customers are getting phone call from fraudsters who claim to be from these shopping sites and informing them that they have won lotteries, and in order to claims the customers were asked to deposit certain amount of money.
The police advice the public not to fall in such traps, it is a ploy implemented by criminals to cheat people. The public should not fall prey to such offers falls messages and phone calls.
