Shillong, Oct 26: During a joint operation conducted by Lumshnong police team and 97 Bn BSF, Umkiang BOP at Sonapur, one truck bearing the registration number AS-23-AC -9029 was detected carrying 19 cattle.
The driver of the truck namely Md. Mofidul Islam and two persons accompanying him namely Md. Jamir Hussain and Md. Raqibul were asked to produce relevant documents but failed to do so.
Accordingly, they were detained and taken to Lumshnong police station and case has been registered. Again on the same another truck with the registration number MZ 05 7625 was detected carrying 40 cattle.
The driver of the vehicle fled away from the scene. Later, the truck along with cattle was brought to Lumshnong police station and case has been registered. All cattle have been seized.
