Shillong, Sept 06: On the occasion of the Teachers’ Day on 5th Sep 2020, the Rotary Club of Orchid City Shillong led by its President Rtn Dr Vincent Darlong and Secretary Rtn Vivek Kumar felicitated six ‘special teachers’ of Roilang Livelihoods Academy – a unit of Bethany Society, Shillong.
The Academy is not a typical conventional school but it does more than that. The academy empowers vulnerable youth especially women, school drop outs and persons with disability through the development of skills for engaging in gainful livelihoods, leading to economic and social inclusion.
Certificate of appreciation were handed over to Miss Eldalyne Kharsati, Miss Merliene Diengdoh, Smti Manja Kynter, Ms Tresila Nongdhar, Ms Ester Lalringkim Pamthied, and Mr Sibashish Dey for their dedicated services bringing light to numerous underprivileged and differently abled youth of the state. Mr Carmo Noronha, Executive Director, Bethany Society was the special guest.
Wonderful project, most of the time we miss the teachers/trainers of Specially-abled school.
