The reading habit in Shillong city capital of Meghalaya is declining gradually

Book FairShillong, October 28: Book Line a company from Kolkata who is dealing in wholesaler, distributor and retail in various types of books held their annual book fair in Shillong City capital of Meghalaya it started on the 18th of October and concluded on the 27th October 2017.

Speaking to SP News Agency, the manager of Book Line Mr Ramesh Tiwari, said that in the year 2001 they have started this Book fair in Meghalaya and the respond from the people is so encouraging that make Book line to hold this annual Book fair in Shillong coming all the way from Kolkata to bring thousand of books to Shillong.

This Book fair in Shillong that the Book Line Company has started in Shillong has become an annual Book Fair since 2001 up to this year 2017. Mr Tiwari said that he has observed that in the last four years people visiting book fair is declining, is not to say about people buying books. From this trend it shows that reading habit of the people in Shillong City capital of Meghalaya is declining gradually.

Mr Tiawari, also said that, this has been a global tendency where reading habit is fading away from the young generation and the trend of browsing through internet is increasing, particularly in India as the country focusing to develop IT Technology in all sectors. In spite of this Book Line will continue to hold this annual book fair in this historical city Shillong.
