Shillong, Jan 24: The Superintendent of Police (Traffic), East Khasi Hills, has informed that the road of Police Bazaar connecting Umsohsun Junction and Sadar Thana Road is going to be opened for vehicular traffic on a trial basis with effect from 27th January, 2020 to ease traffic congestion in and around Police Bazaar area. Only Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) will be allowed to ply in the noted road and will be regulated in the following manner.
All LMVs will have to enter from Khyndailad Junction and can either exit through Umsohsun Junction towards Umsohsun Road and GS Road or from Sadar Thana Road. “No Entry” from Sadar Thana junction towards Alpine Hotel-Police Bazaar and from Umsohsun junction towards Dreamland-Police Bazaar Road.
The entire stretch of Police Bazaar Road will function as “One Way” only. “No Entry” for all kind of vehicles from GS Road, Umsohsun junction towards Umsohsun Road. No vehicles will be allowed to park on the roadside in this entire stretch of the road. Violators will be penalized as per the law.
