Shillong, March 07: The Election for the speaker post to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will be held on 12th March 2018, on coming Monday.
From the ruling have decided to file Dr Donkupar Roy for the post this was confirmed by the Chief Minister Mr Conrad K Sangma.
The leader of the opposition Dr Mukul Sangma said that they will file candidate to contest for the speaker election but the name of the candidate they will decide in their meeting. The Chief Minister said that the meeting was held in his residence.
Sources from the Congress said that likely they will file Mr Winnerson D Sangma but yet to take the final decision. The Opposition will again meet tomorrow to take the final decision who will be their candidate to contest in the election for the speaker post.
