Shillong, July 28: The Shillong Lajong FC will play the first match of the Independence Day Celebration Invitation Football Tournament against Bethlehem VT FC on Friday at the AR Ground in Aizawl at 12pm.
Bethlehem FC suffered a 1-0 loss in their opening match against Dinthar FC. The team will now look to turn things around when they face off Lajong on Friday.
Thangboi Singto’s side arrived in Aizawl on Tuesday afternoon. The team got to train for two days before the big game tomorrow and this is the first time that the two teams will lock horns in a football match in Aizawl.
Speaking about the opponent, Thangboi Singto said, “They will be motivated to play against Lajong especially after losing their first game.”
He further said, “Ideally it would have been good to have more days for training. We have prepared as best as we could.”
“We are expecting a tough match tomorrow and the boys are ready to give their best match performance.”
