The SKRBH opposed CAB, humbly request the youth to abstain from any form of violence

Shillong, Dec 13: The EC of the Synjuk Ki Rangbah Kur ka Bri u Hynniewtrep which met recently has expressed its gravest concern over the prevailing situation which has disturbed normal life in the city of Shillong in particular due to the ongoing protest by organisations against the CAB even though the Synjuk will never accept and endorse CAB in the state.

But as a responsible body of clan elders we feel that any form of protest should not turned  into violence because such behaviour will definitely undermine the power and strength of intellectual and mental capability.

The Synjuk also appeal to all organisation within the state to come together with one voice and one common action which is peaceful and decent. As reminder to our youth today, statehood was granted to Meghalaya without a single drop of blood.

Further, Manipur which has lost hope on ILP in the recent years and without expectation in a single stroke ILP was granted. Therefore, we fervently and humbly request the youth to abstain from any form of violence but take meaningful and comprehensible steps through fervent negotiation and representation because there are plenty of intellectual space by involving the provision of the constitution.

For instance, Article 19 of the constitution which speak about the Fundamental Rights of citizens has also provided a clause in sub section 5 of this Article which empower the state to make laws for protection of the interest of schedule tribes on the ground of reasonable restriction such as the land transfer act.

Therefore, there is hope for ILP if we adopt the intellectual battle through the constitution. Siad Mr Herman Nongrum President and the General Secretary Mr Aristotle L Mawphlang of the SKRBH.
