The State govt has terminated the MoA signed with the M/s Jaiprakash PV Limited

Shillong, August 07:  The Cabinet also today has approved the appointment of 13 Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs) on contractual basis.the cabinet has agreed to the proposal of the social welfare department to fill up these vacant posts on contractual basis with a minimum pay of 30,000 per month.

He said the department in 2018 had written to the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) for six numbers of vacancies adding this was advertised by the MPSC but due to various reasons was not able to revert back regarding the process for recruitment.

Since there are many central projects undertaken and there are many officers who are holding dual charges and it is a big strain on them. Therefore, the department has brought the proposal to the cabinet to fill up these vacant posts on contractual basis till recommendation from MPSC for regular appointment is received.

The Cabinet also today approved the proposal to terminate the memorandum of association (MoA) signed with the M/s Jaiprakash Power Ventures Limited after the 270 megawatt Umngot Hydro Electric Project failed to take off . The MoA was signed way back in 2007 and this project has not taken off despite so much time having lapsed.

The state Cabinet has approved the proposal for implementation of the Meghalaya Health System Strengthening (MHSS) project for overall development of the health sector in the state. “80 percent of the project will be financed by the World Bank and 20 per cent by the state government and the cost of the project is Rs 352 crores.

The Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government has decided to provide space for women in the village employment council for implementing the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme on this the cabinet has decided to have reservation for women in the VEC under the MGNREGA.”
