Shillong, October 02: To commemorate the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Shri Y. Tsering, Chief Secretary, Government of Meghalaya, Shri H. Marwein, Additional Chief Secretary and other Government officials of the State Government offered floral tribute at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Rilang building main secretariat premises, today.
To pay tribute to the father of the nation on his 148th Birth anniversary, many localities in Shillong organized cleaning drive on this day. Volunteers were seen in police bazaar picking up dirt from the road side and to tech people to keep Shillong City Green and clean.
The Public Health Engineering today has organized state function at Nongpoh the Head quarter of Ri Bhoi District and the PHE Minister Grace the occasion, like wise at the District level the department has organized programme on the theme keep clean and green and to protect the sources of water.
