Mairang, Oct 02: The ‘Angikaar campaign’ was launched in Mairang by Shri PM Syiemlieh, Syiem Hima Nongkhlaw in the presence of Shri A Nongbri, SDO (C) Mairang Civil Sub Divison, Village Heads, beneficiaries and other dignitaries. The programme was organised by MUDA, PMAY (U) CLTC, Mairang in collaboration with Sub – Divisional Officer (C), Mairang Civil Sub – Division on the 2nd October 2019 at the Conference Hall SDO (C) Mairang Civil Sub – Division.
Smt Glory T Kamar, Capacity Building Specialist, PMAY (U) CLTC Mairang, informed the gathering that Angikaar is a campaign to embrace change for sustainable environment. PradhanMantriAwasYojnalaunchedAngikaar, a three month campaign, is officially rolledout today the 2nd of October and will be carried out till December 10 to mobilize PMAY (U) beneficiaries for behavioral change management.
The campaign will converge with various urban missions and schemes of other central ministries such asUjjwala scheme for LPG connections, Ayushman Bharat health cards and Ujjala for LED light to facilitate PMAY (U) beneficiaries to avail the benefits of the schemes.
She further said that the objective of Angikaar is to create awareness on best practices of water and energy conservation, waste management, health and hygiene, tree plantation and environment protection.It also aims at engaging communities for a happier and healthier living by dedicating themselves to work towards social and environmental goals, she said.
During the technical session, topics covered include (1) Waste management and Environment Protection under State Investment Project Management and Implementation Unitand (2)Ayushman Bharat/MHIS by Dr CL Challam, M&HO Tirot Sing Memorial Hospital, (3) Water Conservation (Jal Shakti) by Range Officer, Soil and Water Conservation Shri SJ Kharlor and (4) Go Green Plant Trees by Range Forest Officer (Social Forestry) Mairang Range Shri BM Kharkongor.
The programme culminated with a pledge on Angikaar administered by Shri A Nongbri, SDO (C), Mairang Civil Sub – Division, Mairang.
