Shillong, April 16: The total dues of Meghalaya ta North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO) has accumulated to the tunes of Rs.550 cores in the past many years right from the time of the Congress Government and of the present Government.
Speaking to the media today at his office chambers, the Chief Minister said that the total amount of electricity due to the NEEPCO has been accumulated for the last many years right from the Congress Government and the present government.
The Chief Minister said that it is not possible for the Government to clear the dues in one shot, but from the state government try it best to clear the pending dues, NEEPCO also understand the hardship face by the government.
Coming to load shedding, the Chief Minister said that this is not new thing it happen in the past and the government is trying it best to reduce the load shedding by clearing the bill due to NEEPCO.
