The two day Assam Regiment 34th Biennial Confrence concluded in Shillong today

Shillong, November 02: The Lieutenant General B S Negi, UYSM, YSM, SM, VSM, ADC, PhD, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Central Command and Colonel of the Assam Regiment and  Arunachal Scouts visited Assam Regimental Centre on the occasion of 34th Biennial Conference.

Major General Sanjay Gupta, Inspector General of Assam Rifles North and Major General P S Behl, General Officer Commanding, 21 Mtn Div along with all Battalion Commanders of the Regiment and other serving and veteran dignitaries were also present.

This is for the first time in the history of Assam Regiment and Arunachal Scouts, an Army Commander has taken over as Colonel of the Regiment.

The General Officer in his inspirational talk to the Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, Other Rank and Recruits said that the Assam Regiment had truly lived upto the expectations of the whole country and of the founding fathers of the Regiment and has been able to showcase the vast talent of the robust yet friendly people of the region both at National and International levels.

The General Officer also felicitated the hardworking serving and veteran Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and Other Rank of the Regiment.

The conference extended over a period of two days wherein modalities and issues of the Regiment were discussed to ensure the Regiment’s continuous progress. Lieutenant General D S Ahuja, General Officer Commanding, 101 Area also attended one function of the two day long event and interacted with the Army Commander on issues pertaining to the station.
