Shillong, May 16: The United Nations has proclaimed May 22 as the International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) to increase understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. The theme for this year’s celebration is Our Biodiversity, Our Food, Our Health which is in line with the work that NESFAS does in the communities of Meghalaya and Nagaland.
NESFAS is observing this important occasion on May 22, 2019. There will be several components to this year’s celebration like Agrobiodiversity Walk for Urban Youth in Laitsohpliah Village. Workshop on Pest Management for Custodian Farmers of the Agroecology Learning Circle (ALC) Formal Programme “Our Biodiversity, Our Food, Our Health”.
