Out of 3 who die when tree fell from Raj Bhavan,1 identified as Smti. Crystal G Kharnaior

Shillong, August 12: Today around 4.20 pm, following incessant rain in Shillong city area, a huge eucalyptus tree fell on three local taxis having the registration number ML-05L-1471, ML-06-4171and  ML-05P-0543 at All India Radio Junction near Raj Bhavan, Shillong.

As a result, three occupants of one of the affected local taxis ML-05L-1471 namely, Smti. Crystal Gayle Kharnaior 23 years daughter of Mr Raphael Warjri residence of Mawlai Nongkwar Block-V, Shillong and two unidentified male occupants aged about 50 years and  35 years respectively, were reported killed on the spot the police is yet to identified them.

while two women namely, Smt. Wannysha Ksoo 27 years and Smt. Newmemorial Wahlang 51 years were  sustained injuries in the incident, all the three vehicles were badly damaged and vehicular traffic on the affected area was blocked.

It has been a very sad news today as three people lost their live in a very tragic incident today evening when a tree fell down into the road on top of three moving vehicles. This incident happend to day at  AG point near Raj Bhavan, when a massive tree from inside Raj bhavan fell down into the road crashing three moving vehicles and pulling along with it the electric post and electric wires.

The 108 ambulance from Shillong civil, Mawphlang and Umiam were dispatched for this case where they have shifted 4 victims of which three were shifted first and were reported brought dead by the doctor in shiilong civil hospital. It took about 30 minutes to extricate the first three victims. The other injured victim N Wahlang 51 F were shifted later after it took one hour to take her out from the crushed vehicles.
