11 COVID-19 patients have been admitted at the Composite Hospital of the BSF, shillong

Shillong, July 02: Today is “National Doctors Day”. This Day is celebrated on the occasion of Birth of the Renowned Physician, Philosopher and Politician of India Dr B C Rai.

The Doctors in Border Security Force are spread all over India in General and Indo-BD Border, Meghalaya in particular providing all Medical facilities needed by the local Border population.

At few places on the border, BSF has established Medicare Center for the Border Population where at any time someone, who is need of Medical attention, can approach and get the required Medicare assistance.

The CAPF Composite Hospital situated in BSF Campus Umpling is providing Medicare to all CAPF Personnel and their families. All specialized Medicare and surgical facilities are  available and till today CAPF Composite Hospital, Shillong has done more than 110 Lap Cholecystectomy.

More than 75  Caesarian Deliveries and arranged more than 25 cataract surgeries. Besides, providing OPD facility to good numbers of beneficiaries and indoor facility as well, the bed occupancy of this Hospital has already been more than 100%.

Informing this,Dr A C Bhardwajan, Medical Superintendent of CAPF CH, Shillong said that now during the present scenario due to COVID-19 pandemic, the team of Doctors available at CAPF CH, Shillong are giving their 100% dedicated services to the beneficiaries.

Dr A C Bhardwajan, Medical Superintendent said that they created not only the Quarantine Center but this Hospital has also been designated as “Dedicated COVID Health Center” by MHA Govt of India and State Govt of Meghalaya as well.

Till today 11 COVID-19 patients have been admitted out of which 01 has been discharged after being fully cured and 04 patients have been put under Isolation after recovery from the COVID-19. In this way the recovery rate of COVID-19 of this CH is matching with National recovery rate i.e. 59.7%.

Talking about the infrastructure created and facilities provided for fighting against COVID-19 Dr. V S Rajan, Commandant Medical of Meghalya Ftr  informed that all precautions measure are being taken by BSF to stop the spread of virus.

In Meghalaya BSF has created 25 quarantine centers in which 1561 BSF persons were de-quarantined after completion of period and 1033 BSF persons are presently quarantined in these quarantine centers.

To stop the spread of COVID-19 within the campus proper screening and sanitization of every entrance are being done with the help of administration of the Ftr HQ BSF, Meghalaya. Shri U K Nayal, PRO & DIG of BSF is providing information about the prevailing situation in the state in general and of the Shillong city in particular, which helps CH Shillong to ascertain the situation.
