Shillong, October 19: Mr Augustine Marak MDC in the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council alleged that the Rongdik Bridge collapse since the PWD remains adman to the request made by the people of the area.
The people from the area has requested the PWD Department time and again to repair the bridge which is in dilapidated condition but the PWD department paid no heat to the peoples plea, said Mr Augustine Marak.
When the incessant rain take place last week portion of the bridge collapse and the people of the area along the NH-62 were cut off. Mr Marak said that till today there is no sign from the PWD to repair Rongdik Bridge that was washed away by flood last week.
The MDC demanded from the PWD Department to repair the Rongdik Bridge without any delay as the people from Siju area and Baghmara are facing immense hardship since there is no alternative road in the area.
