To pressure Dr Mukul Govt to implement ILP, HYC will hold three day hunger strike

Shillong, December 04: To pressure on Dr Mukul Sangma Government to implement Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state of Meghalaya to tackle influx, the Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) will hold three day hunger strike at the additional secretariat from 7th to 9th of this month December.

Speaking to media person at the Shillong Press Club, the general Secretary Mr Robert June Kharjahrin, said that the organization has no alternative since the government is adman on the fourteen points demanded by the organization related with tackling influx and ILP is top priority on the demand list.

From the HYC they have met all the political parties on this issued, many of them have agreed, but from the government led by the congress they have not shown any sign to implement ILP. The Government does not bother even to call for talk.

The Organisation will have series of agitation after the hunger strike that will be announce in due course if the government fail to bring up official resolution on tackling influx in this three day winter session that will commence from coming Friday.

The organization would like to see how many political parties will be include ILP in their manifesto, if they did not do so the organization will canvass against thus candidate of any political parties.

On the failure of the government for not implementing the ILP, the HYC does not blame only to the Chief Minister DR Mukul Sangma alone but they blames to all MLAs who were supporting this Congress led Government.
