Shillong, March 21: With an aimed at promoting tourism in East Jaintia Hills district, the Society for Promotion of Tourism will be organizing a two day ‘Discover East Jaintia Tourism Festival’ 2017, starting on March 24, at Khliehriat West Youth Welfare playground.
While addressing media person at Shillong Press Club,Mr Glorious Bareh coordinator of the Society said, said they want to promote and showcase the various tourist spots which are in plenty in East Jaintia hills to the world through this festival, with an aim to further boost tourism in the region.
He informed that there is abundance of beautiful waterfall, caves etc.., in the region which is rather still unknown by people from outside. Through this festival people will learn better on where the best tourist spots are located in the region.
This two day festival will also feature, cultural dance, indigenous food stalls including a beauty pageant contest ‘Miss Lidakha’ 2017 and on the final day and on March 25, people can participate in an eco trail, bike rally, music concert etc.
