Training programme for Volunteers on First Aid, Search and Rescue held by DDMA

Shillong, July 13:  A two day Training programme for volunteers on First Aid, Search and Rescue organized by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), East Khasi Hills, Shillong was held at Bharat Scouts and Guides Training Hall, Shillong on 5th and 6th July, 2018. The programme was inaugurated by Smti I. Majaw, ADC and CEO, DDMA, Shillong.

A total of 60 participants from various volunteers organizations which includes from Nehru Yuva Kendra, National Student Services, Indian Red Cross Society, Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides and non government agencies of Shillong city were trained to on the basics of First Aid and Search & Recue methods and engaged in a Mock Drill.

The Training was imparted by the personnel from the Office of the Home Guards and Civil Defence, Shillong and was conducted under the aegis of the USAID- MHA-UNDP partnership project titled “Developing Resilient Cities through Risk Reduction in the context of Disasters and Climate Change” which is implemented in Shillong.
