Shillong, Nov 15: On the sideline of the upcoming Cherry Blossom Festival to be held in Shillong from 14th – 17th November 2018, an Organising Committee of “An International Judo workshop-Seminar” under the Patron-in-Chief of Mr A L Hek, Minster of Meghalaya and Chief Patron of Mr S K Sun, MLA and Jason S Mawlong, MLA along with Mr Allantry F Dkhar, Political Secretary and Adviser to the Chief Minster the Meghalaya Judo Association (MJA) would conduct “An International Workshop-Seminar on Judo” the first of its kind in the State since its inception in 1986.
This will of such great importance to us as Judo Enthusiasts, Judokas and other Martial Arts Artists as well as other well established Sports Administrator can join hand together in promoting, developing and popularizing Judo the only martial arts forms being played in the Olympic since 1964 and 1984 for both men and women respectively.
It is indeed a privilege for the State and Judo enthusiasts as well as the Judokas of the State to have a direct audience with a Judo Expert from Japan who is attending the Cherry Blossom Festival officially as mentioned above.
The Organising Committee invites all who are ineterst in Judo especially from Armed Forces stationed in Meghalaya and those Schools who used to take part in Judo Championship in the State, region and National as well to join the Workshop on the starting today will culminate tomorrow at Laban Sports Club Indoor Hall taking advantage of Mizuno, Judo Expert from Japan presence in Shillong and this is also as per the request and advisory note received from Japan Embassy and Local Nodal Organisation “The Asian Confluence”, Shillong.
Mr S. Chaliha, Gold Medalist at the recently concluded Commonwealth Judo Championship 2018 held in Jaipur will be one of the partner in Judo for the Seminar and will also be taking part in the Judo Demonstration on 17th Nov 2018 at the Cherry Blossom Festival.
