Shillong, Oct 06: The President of the United Democratic Party (UDP) Mr. Metbah Lyngdoh who is also the Speaker of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly announced that the party has decided to put up Mr. Ashahel D Shira sitting MDC of Batabari Constituency in the GHADC to contest from the 47-Rajabala Constituency in this by elelction that will be held on the 30th October 2021.
Speking to Media the President Mr. Lyngdoh said said that they have full faith that the party candidate will win the bye election from the 47-Rajabala Assembly Constituency, he was former MLA from the area, the party will work hard to ensure that the party candidate win this bye election.
Coming to 24-Mawphlang (ST) Assembly Mr. Lyngdoh is confident that the party will win from this constituency, though they have to face the NPP candidate whom they are working together in the collation Government, the UDP is confident to retain the seat from Mawphlang.
Coming to Mawryngkeng the party as decided by the grass roots workers they will len their support to the NPP candidate Mr. Pyniaid Syiem who is also the MDC and the chairman in the KHADC, this decision to support NPP Candidate is taken at the grass roots level of the party.
