Upper age limit has been increased to 42 years for recruitment for Doctors and Nurses

Shillong, December 21: Upper age limit has been increased to 42 years for recruitment for Doctors and Nurses in government hospitals; this was approved at the cabinet meeting held today.

The Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma told media after the cabinet meeting, that the cabinet has taken this decision since there is shortage of Doctors and Nurses in government hospitals, with this relaxation in age limit will attract moredoctors and nurses to serve the state.

The recruitment age limit in the government is 32 years with the increased with others ten years it will be 42 years. The cabinet also decided to allowed special leave for special doctor’s doctors  who want to served the state in the health care sectors.
