Use of Firecrackers during Diwali generating noise level exceeding 125 dB prohibitated

Shillong October 12: The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has prohibited the manufacture, sale or use of firecrackers generating noise level exceeding 125 dB (AI) or 145 dB (C) pk at 4 meters distance from the point of bursting and for individual fire-cracker constituting the series (joined fire-crackers), the above mentioned limit be reduced by 5 log 10(N) dB, where number of crackers joined together.
