Warjri Clan Organisation visited the Pyndeng Nongbri village and formed the unit

Pyndeng Nongbri, March 16L: The Central leadership of the   Seng Kur Warjri or the Warjri Clan Organisation visited the Pyndeng Nongbri village and formed the unit bifurcated from the Mairang unit.

The unit was formed as part of the endeavour to expand its clan activities to every nook and corner of the Khasi and Jaintia Hills and to share the responsibilities with the clan elders of various unit for the general welfare of the clan. The Pyndeng Nongbri unit of 137 households with 746 residents comprising of 329 female and 417 male clan members.

The office bearers of the unit are Rotar Warjri, President, Marbel Star Warjri and Buksing Warjri, Vice Presidents; Wantar Warjri, Adviser; Tairos Sing Warjri,  Secretary; Pynshailang Warjri, Assistant Secretary; Martidoris Warjri, Finance Secretary; Dadi Warjri, Treasurer; Maktur Sing Warjri, Publicity Secretary; and David Warjri, Assistant Publicity Secretary.

With the motive to encourage the children and youth of the village, three meritorious students were felicitated for excellence in studies in the HSSLC and SSLC Examinations 2018. Few of the clan elders delivered speeches on the general welfare of the clan and to avoid from any undue involvement in politics and religion.
