Shillong, September 12: What is in the mind of the Government of Meghalaya, Where Street Dwellers is on the rise in the state Capital in Shillong. These street dwellers are seldom seen only in Police Bazar area in the past few years.
Earlier this street dwellers are seen only non-tribal’s, but in the last few months many tribal are also spent their night on the street, in veranda of many shops, like Police Bazar area, Polo Bazar area, and recently in Motphran area.
When SP News Agency tried to ask few of thus street dwellers particular in Motphran area, they refused to say anything, they do not even tell their names, but they just reply they do not have a place to stay. They have no alternative but to sleep on the road side on veranda of some shop after the shop owner closed it.
This street dwellers want from the government if the government could have a place for them to sleep at night that will be a blessing for people who are in the authority who understand their need, one the street dwellers sadly said who will look after them.
