With the rest of the Country Republic Day, 2018 celebrated in Meghalaya across the State

Shillong, January 27: the 69th Republic Day was celebrated across the state with great enthusiasm, where thousands of people participate in this special day. In the state capital the Governor of Meghalaya unfurled the National Flag, where thousands of people participate in the celebration.

Marching Contingents led by Major Deepak Singh Mehta from Assam Regimental Centre, Shillong and Second in Command Inspector R.C. Bordoloi from Border Wing Home Guard. The 11 marching contingents includes Assam Regimental Centre, Assam Rifles, Border Security Force, Central Reserve Police Force, District Executive Force, Meghalaya Police, Manipur Police, Border Wing Home Guard, NCC boys and girls, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Indian Red Cross Society and the combine brass band of Border Wing Home Guards, Assam Rifles and Border Security Force.

At Tura, the Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of 12 Parade Contingents at Dikki Bandi Stadium.

At Williamnagar, the Deputy Commissioner, Shri Ram Kumar S. unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of the 12 marching contingents comprising of Meghalaya Police, school students, Scouts and Guides and NCC at Rongrenggre Government Higher Secondary School playground.

At Ampati, the Deputy Commissioner, Cyril Darlong Diengdoh, unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of nine marching contingents comprising of the State Police and various schools at Ampati in South West Garo Hills.

At Resubelpara, the Deputy Commissioner, Shri S. C. Sadhu took the Rashtriya Salute of the 9 Parade contingents at Mini Stadium, Resubelpara.

At Baghmara, the Deputy Commisioner, Smti S. N. Marak took the Rashtriya salute of the marching contingents comprising of BSF Jawans, DEF, Baghmara,SF-10 and school students at Government Higher Secondary School Playground, Baghmara.

At Jowai, the Deputy Commissioner, Shri R. Rapthap unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of the 25 marching contingents comprising District Executive Force, 3rd MLP Battalion, District Home Guards, Bharat Scouts & Guides and students from various schools at Jrisalein Playground.

At Khliehriat, the Deputy Commissioner Shri M. S. Lhuid took the Rashtriya Salute of the nine marching contingents at Khliehriat Higher Secondary School playground.

At Nongstoin the Deputy Commissioner, Shri Arun Kumar Kembhavi unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of 18 Parade contingent comprising of the District Police, NCC, Scout & Guide and school students at New Nongstoin playground.

At Mawkyrwat, Deputy Commissioner, Kum. Isawanda Laloo unfurled the National Flag and took the salute of the March past contingents comprising of 13 schools, Police and NCC at Maharam Higher Secondary School, Mawkyrwat.

At Nongpoh, Deputy Commissioner, Shri C. P. Gotmare unfurled the National flag and took the Rashtriya salute of the 17 contingents  comprising of the Meghalaya Police, NCC, Scouts & Guides, School Students from different schools and a Band from St. Paul’s Higher Secondary School, Nongpoh at NSCA Mini Stadium, Pahamsyiem Nongpoh.

The Republic Day was also celebrated in all the Civil Sub Division and in the Adminstrative Unit, At Sohra Civil Sub-Division, Shri. Shantanu Sharma, Sub-Divisional Officer, Sohra Civil Sub-Division unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of the marching contingents comprising of Meghalaya Police, NCC and School contingents at Sohra Sports Stadium, Saitsohpen, Sohra.

At Mairang Civil Sub Division Shri H. S. Diengdoh in-charge SDO (C) Mairang Sub-Division took the Rashtriya Salute of fifteen marching contingents.

At Dadenggre Civil Sub-Division, SDO (C) Dadenggre, Swapnil Tembe unfurled the National flag and took the Rashtriya salute of 13 marching contingents.

At Amlarem Civil Sub-Division, Smti D. M. Suja, SDO (Civil) Amlarem, unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute at Amlarem Government Primary School Playground.

At Pynursla Civil Sub-Division, D. Hynniewta, SDO (C), Pynursla Civil Sub-Division, unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of the 13 parade contingents comprising of the police and school students at Urksew Umkor Pynursla Sport Club Stadium.

At Mawshynrut Civil Sub Division Shri K. L. Nongbri in-charge SDO (Civil) Mawshynrut Sub-Division took the Rashtriya Salute of seven parade contingents.

At Raksamgre Civil Sub-Division, Leben Ch Mark, ADC, Raksamgre Civil Sub-division unfurled the Tricolor and took the Rashtriya Salute of the 6 marching contingents, comprising of 2nd MLP Battalion and students of various schools at Raksamgre public playground.

At Chokpot Civil Sub-Division, Shri Zenithsky Sangma, SDO (C), Chokpot Civil Sub-Division unfurled the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute of the marching contingents comprising of BSF, DEF, Scouts & Guides at Govt. U. P. School Playground.

At Ranikor Administrative Unit Shri L.G. Kharmih, BDO, Ranikor Administrative Unit hoisted the National Flag and took the salute of the marching contingents at Nolikata playground, Ranikor
